Authorizing Medical Cannabis, all you need to know: Are your patients asking about medical cannabis?

Areas of focus will include: therapeutic indications, prescribing, dosing, and accessing professional medical cannabis support.

Speakers:

Lynn Haslam, NP, Since 2005, Lynn has been working as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in the area of

anesthesia and pain management at one of Toronto’s largest hospitals. Recently she

joined Ontario Shores as the nurse practitioner on the geriatric outreach team. She is

currently completing her PhD in Aging & Health, with a research project on mobility in

the older adult population. Her interest in cannabis has grown over the last two years

since she came into contact with several older adults using cannabis to treat arthritis

pain.

Dr. Steven Orlov, MD, Dr. Steven Orlov is the Medical Director of Natural Care, and previously of Cannamed Clinic, the first interdisciplinary medical cannabis clinic in York Region. He completed his medical training at the University of Toronto, where he went on to complete his Internal Medicine and Endocrinology residencies. As part of a growing recognition for the medical use of cannabis, he completed the Medical Cannabis Certificate Program accredited by the Canadian Council of Continuing Education in Pharmacy.
