Update Your Knowledge on Post Bariatric Care and Obesity Management
Managing the care of patients after bariatric surgery or the care of patients living with obesity can be complex.
The Ontario Bariatric Network (OBN) is launching a new Project ECHO in post bariatric care and obesity management this coming fall. A series of six sessions will be hosted by Kingston Health Sciences Centre of Excellence beginning September 9, 2019.
Project ECHO OBN is an interdisciplinary model that revolutionizes medical education and increases provider capacity to provide best-practice specialty care through networks of healthcare providers across the province. Join this knowledge sharing network with other primary care providers and specialist from the Bariatric Centres of Excellence to share best practices and discuss cases using videoconferencing technology. Sessions are open to all primary care providers and allied health professionals working in primary care, are offered at no cost and are eligible for Continuing Medical Education credits.

Sept 9 – Medical Management of Obesity
Oct 21 – Post-Operative Care of Bariatric Surgical Patients
Oct 28 – Assessment and Management of Nutritional Deficiencies
Nov 4 – Impact of Bariatric Surgery on Mental Health
Nov 25 – Medication Management Following Bariatric Surgery
Dec 9 – Weight Regain Following Bariatric Surgery
All sessions are 1.5 hours in length taking place from 2:30 – 4 pm.
