Shining the light on women’s heart and brain health risk factors working with NPs to move the needle co-hosted by Heart & Stroke Foundation and Nurse Practitioners’ Association of Ontario.
Speaker: Roberta Heale
Roberta Heale is an NP with a career spanning over twenty-five years and an accomplished journey in healthcare, education, and advocacy. She earned both a DNP and a PhD, focusing these and her other research endeavours on NP practice, education, and policy. She has taught NPs in various programs since 2001 and has been an active participant in NP organizations at the local, provincial, national, and international levels. Notably, Roberta has been an NPAO member since 1999 and was the first President of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Canada. In addition, Roberta was a co-founder of Canada’s first Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (NPLC) in Sudbury, Ontario, a landmark change to healthcare delivery in Canada.
Roberta practiced in comprehensive primary healthcare settings for over two decades until she decided to focus on the care of women in mid-life and beyond. She became a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner reflecting her commitment to holistic and patient-centered care. In 2022, she launched the Virtual Menopause Clinic, offering not only patient care but also valuable resources through courses, blogs, webinars, and YouTube videos, further empowering patients, and healthcare professionals alike.
