Description: The speaker will offer an overview of vaginal dryness, its causes and symptoms with particular attention on specific timeframes within a woman’s life. Treatment options, including the differences between lubricants and moisturizers will be addressed. Tips for initiating patient conversations on vaginal health will be discussed.
Following this presentation the learner will:
o Confidently manage communication about vaginal health with patients
o Recognize the cause and symptoms of vaginal dryness throughout the lifespan
o Understand the differences between short and long term management approaches to vaginal dryness
o Distinguish and utilize the appropriate management strategies in practice
Speaker: Lynne Haslett, NP-PHC, M.Ed | East End CHC/ Legacy in Learning Inc.
Lynne currently practices as a Primary Care NP at an East Toronto CHC. In addition to her dedication and commitment to patient care, Lynne has a tremendous passion for medical education; both teaching and learning. She attained her Masters of Education at OISE/UT in 2000 and has owned and operated her own successful medical education business since 2004. When not busy with patients, Lynne develops various types of medical content, has presented at various International Conferences and is active in research. Her past works have won her a number of awards including the National Health Information Award (2009 – 2010) and her publications are numerous; most recently Lessons Learned for Effective Research Partnerships Between Patients, Caregivers, Clinicians which demonstrates her passion for patient care and collaboration. She feels strongly that NPs learn so much from one another. Today she would like to engage you all in that very exchange.
