The Use of Oral Probiotics in Vulvovaginal Health

- Description – This session will explore vaginitis, commonly caused by bacterial vaginosis and vulvovaginal candidiasis. It will discuss the use of oral probiotics in the treatment and prevention of these conditions as well as supportive care.
- Learning objectives – To review the epidemiology and pathology of bacterial vaginosis and vulvovaginal candidiasis. To discuss the effectiveness and safety of probiotics in the treatment and supportive care of these conditions.
- Speaker – Lauren Scott completed her undergraduate degree at McMaster University and her Master of Nursing degree and Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner (Global Health) program at The University of Toronto. She is an adjunct lecturer at The University of Toronto. She is a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner at Women’s College Hospital Family Practice Health Centre. Her practice is focused on Women’s Health.
