Child Nutrition Digital Series
February 2, 2023 @ 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Description
Nutrition and physical activity are important in the growth and development of children and the prevention and management of many chronic diseases including diabetes, cardiovascular disease and overweight and obesity. In Canada, nutrition education in medical schools is limited and many family physicians report feeling ill-prepared to provide nutrition education to their patients and their families.
The Child Nutrition digital series is designed to offer physicians and healthcare providers a relevant and comprehensive overview of clinical nutrition throughout the lifespan from infancy to adolescence. The series will consist of ten, one hour-long interactive virtual sessions presented by clinicians and scientists. Each session will introduce a key, “hot” topic, that will instruct participants on how to talk to their patients about the nutrition topic and include key messages and approaches that can be incorporated into their practice immediately. At the end of each session, participants will be provided with a 1-page summary.
