Mental Health & Addictions: Two Lies and the Truth

  • Connie will bring forward her Indigenous lived experience in a story format highlighting the historical points in time that have directly impacted negative health outcomes for Indigenous people through the generations to the present.
  • Katie will discuss innovative partnerships to support Indigenous Engagement and leadership within the Health System. She will provide examples from the West Parry Sound Health System, of how developing trust, and true Indigenous-led partnerships, can help non-indigenous organizations develop and provide culturally safe and appropriate health and social service pathways.
