NPAO CEO Dr. Michelle Acorn stated, “NPAO is thrilled that our pre-budget submission advocating for funding to fully integrate NPs was utilized. This large commitment will advance health outcome improvements across the province for patients. NPs are integral health care team members that strive to deliver high-quality and timely care for Ontarians.
NPs are ready and poised to increase access to comprehensive PHC. NPs are trusted and autonomous primary care providers, who can also compliment interprofessional team services. NPs can be found in many settings across the health system, including Nurse Practitioner Led Clinics.”
NPAO looks forward to working closely with the Ministry and Ontario Government to implement innovative models of publicly funded primary care.
